Sending invoices
Sending an invoice to a client takes one form, in your workspace or on the web.
Make an invoice
Section titled “Make an invoice”In Slack: type /du3 new in any channel Du3y is in. A form opens.
On the web: click New invoice at the top of any page in the Du3 app.
Then fill in:
- Client — pick a saved client or add a new one. New clients are saved for next time, with their email, company, phone, address, tax ID and usual currency.
- What you’re billing for — one line per item, with a quantity and price.
- Currency — each invoice has its own currency. It starts with the client’s usual currency, or your company’s.
- Tax — add a tax rate if you charge tax.
- Due date — when you expect to be paid.
- Notes — anything the client should see, like payment instructions.
Du3 numbers every invoice for you: INV, the year and month, then a random code, like INV-2026-10-K7Q2. Invoices you receive start with IN.
What happens when you send it
Section titled “What happens when you send it”- Your client gets an email with a link to a clean invoice page and a PDF. They don’t need an account.
- Du3y posts a card in your alert channel showing the client, amount, due date and status.
- When the client opens the invoice, the card changes to Viewed.
- On the due date, and every few days after, Du3y posts a reminder in the card’s thread until the invoice is paid.
Who can send, and who approves
Section titled “Who can send, and who approves”| You are | What happens when you make an invoice |
|---|---|
| Owner or admin | It is sent straight away. |
| Channel member | It waits for an admin. Admins see Approve & send and Reject on the Slack card and in the app. Once approved, it is sent. |
When the client pays
Section titled “When the client pays”Du3 doesn’t take payments. Your client pays you the way they normally would, for example by bank transfer. When the money lands, an admin marks the invoice paid:
- in Slack, click Mark paid on the card, or type
/du3 paid INV-2026-10-K7Q2; - in Discord, type
/du3 paid INV-2026-10-K7Q2; - on the web, open the invoice and click Record payment.
The card turns Paid, and the thread notes who marked it and when.
Change or delete an invoice
Section titled “Change or delete an invoice”Admins can edit an invoice with /du3 edit INV-2026-10-K7Q2 or from the app. To remove one, use /du3 delete INV-2026-10-K7Q2 or Delete in the app. Deleted invoices can be restored for 30 days. Every change is kept in the invoice’s history.
Statuses
Section titled “Statuses”Each status has its own icon in the app, in Slack and on the invoice page: a ring that fills up as the invoice gets closer to paid. Problems close the ring with a mark inside it.
