Using Du3y
Du3y is Du3’s helper in your workspace. Use a /du3 command for quick jobs, or ask in plain words.
This page describes Du3y in Slack. Du3y works in Discord too, with the same /du3 commands: see Using Du3y in Discord for what is different there.
Commands
Section titled “Commands”Type these in any channel Du3y is in. In Slack, typing /du3 also lists a shortcut for each one, like /du3-list overdue (same as /du3 list overdue).
| Command | What it does | Who can use it |
|---|---|---|
/du3 new |
Opens a form to make and send an invoice to a client. | Everyone |
/du3 link [name] |
Makes a link a contractor can use to send you an invoice. Add a name, like /du3 link Amara, for a link just for them. |
Everyone |
/du3 list [status] |
Shows your recent invoices. Add a status to filter: sent, overdue, paid, received … |
Everyone |
/du3 view <number> |
Shows one invoice’s card, only to you. Example: /du3 view INV-2026-09-B3MT. |
Everyone |
/du3 paid <number> |
Marks an invoice as paid and notes who did it. | Admins |
/du3 edit <number> |
Opens the invoice so you can change it. | Admins |
/du3 delete <number> |
Deletes the invoice after you confirm. It can be restored for 30 days. | Admins |
/du3 summary |
Shows what you’re owed, what you owe and what’s overdue, per currency. | Everyone |
“Everyone” means anyone in your alert channel. If someone who isn’t an admin tries an admin command, Du3y tells them privately that they can’t.
Invoice cards
Section titled “Invoice cards”Every new invoice gets one card in your alert channel. When something changes, the card updates in place and Du3y adds a short note in the thread, like “Tolu marked this paid from the web”.
The buttons you see depend on the invoice and on who you are:
| Button | Shows on | Who can use it |
|---|---|---|
| View | Every card | Everyone |
| Copy link | Every card | Everyone |
| Approve & send / Reject | Invoices a channel member made, waiting for approval | Admins |
| Mark paid | Sent and received invoices that aren’t paid yet | Admins |
| Reject | Received invoices | Admins |
| Edit | Every card | Admins |
Reminders
Section titled “Reminders”On an invoice’s due date, and every few days after, Du3y posts a reminder in the card’s thread until it’s paid. Admins can change how often in Settings → Du3y.
Ask in plain words
Section titled “Ask in plain words”In Slack, mention Du3y and ask (in Discord, use /du3y instead):
- “@Du3y who hasn’t paid yet?”
- “@Du3y invoice Northwind ₦1.2m net 14”
- “@Du3y who are our clients?”
- “@Du3y what do we owe contractors this month?”
Du3y knows your saved clients, so you can use the name you know them by. If it isn’t sure who you mean, it suggests the closest matches. It only asks for an email when the client is new.
When you ask Du3y for an invoice, it saves a draft, shows it to you and asks “Want me to send it?”. Nothing goes to your client until you say yes. It also asks before deleting anything. (The /du3 new form sends as soon as you submit it.)
In the Du3 app, the Du3y tab works the same way: type your question, and the box moves up with your keyboard.
Your data stays yours
Section titled “Your data stays yours”Du3y only ever sees your own company’s invoices. It knows which company you are from the workspace the message came from — never from what anyone types. We don’t send bank details or tax IDs to Du3y’s AI model.
If your plan has ended
Section titled “If your plan has ended”You can still ask Du3y to list, show or sum up your invoices. Anything that would change something (a new invoice, a link, marking paid, deleting) gets a short note that your Du3 plan has ended. The owner can pick a plan at any time.
